Ealing arrest in major Met Police operation

A man was arrested in Ealing during a major Metropolitan Police operation that saw 85 people detained across London and neighbouring counties as officers targeted gangs linked to serious violence and drug supply.

The three-day crackdown, known as Operation Pandilla, involved the Metropolitan Police Service working with seven other forces to track suspected offenders using automatic number plate recognition cameras.

Police said a 27-year-old man was arrested in Ealing on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to produce insurance documents and possession with intent to supply class B drugs. A subsequent search of his address allegedly uncovered 750g of cannabis, cash, scales and a cash counter. He was later bailed pending further inquiries.

Across the wider operation, officers arrested 85 people, seized 85 vehicles, recovered 11 knives and more than £10,000 in cash.

Superintendent Francesca-May Robinson, who led the operation, said the results showed the force’s commitment to disrupting organised crime groups operating across London and surrounding counties.

She said intelligence-led policing and cross-border cooperation had helped officers identify offenders, target criminal networks and remove those causing harm from the streets.

Police said forces from Essex, Surrey, Thames Valley, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Sussex and Hampshire also took part.
