Tell us a bit about yourself, your priorities for the ward and why you want to be councillor for Southfield?
I was born on the Isle of Wight, moving to London after university. I have worked in retail, selling books, currently running a second hand bookshop for a leading UK Charity, My priorities for Southfield are a clean, safe, well maintained ward.
What motivates you?
To do the best for the people in Southfield, to be available, to be a link to Ealing Council.
What is your own personal connection to either Southfield or any other part of the borough?
I have lived in W3 or W4 for the last forty years. I have been a Southfield councillor since 2010.
What do you consider to be your 3 top political, work or personal achievements and what impact have they had?
Politically: over the years saving St Albans Church, contributing towards the murals at T.Green, finally getting a crossing on Southfield Road. More personal achievements such as solving housing problems – little victories which mean a lot to individuals.
What do you consider to be the top 3 challenges Southfield faces and how will you as a councillor address them?
Huge challenges for local government re: funding, impact us all.
What do you love about Southfield and the borough of Ealing?
It is great walking or cycling round the ward, picking up casework, talking to residents – you really get that sense of community.
How accessible will you be to Southfield residents and how can they get in contact with you now and if elected how will you ensure you are accessible to them in the future?
I can be contacted by phone and email, and we still host a monthly surgery at St Pauls Church the first Saturday of the month.
