On 7 May 2026, residents in the Ealing Broadway ward will vote to choose who represents them at Ealing Council.
EALING.NEWS has asked all candidates standing to become a councillor, 7 questions about who they are, what they hope to deliver and why they want residents to vote for them.
Here’s what Adam Keenan, standing for Ealing Liberal Democrats in Ealing Broadway, has to say:
Tell us a bit about yourself, your priorities for the ward and why you want to be councillor for Ealing Broadway?
I’m a local secondary school teacher, and I live in the ward. Ealing Broadway is a wonderful place to live, and I find myself fortunate to call Ealing home. Street cleaning, secure neighbourhoods, and road safety are my top priorities.
What motivates you?
A desire for change, and the opportunity to work with others to improve my local area.
What is your own personal connection to either Ealing Broadway or any other part of the borough?
I live in the ward. I cycle to work every day – rain or shine! I’m also proud to be an active member of the Questors Theatre – our fantastic community theatre in the heart of Ealing. I am also a member of our Police Panel, and the Central Ealing Residents Association.
What do you consider to be your 3 top political, work or personal achievements and what impact have they had?
1. I read Raynor Winn’s The Salt Path, and thought it would be fun to walk from Liverpool to Brighton, via the South West Coast Path. 1000+ miles in total. Since then I’ve been on many more long walks across this fantastic island! Walking does wonders for the soul – and it’s free.
2. I am a proud union rep at my school. It’s an honour to represent teachers and support staff who give so much for our community. If you’re not in a union – join one!
3. Getting elected in May (fingers crossed!)
What do you consider to be the top 3 challenges Walpole faces and how will you as a councillor address them?
1. Cleaning up our streets and parks – Lobby the council to increase the frequency of street cleaning, and re-open Acton Recycling Centre. On a personal note, I will continue to litter pick for Lager Can.
2. Tackling crime and anti social behaviour – Lobby the council to increase street lighting near Ealing Broadway and West Ealing stations to strengthen visibility and safety, and ensure the foyer area of Ealing Broadway station has a strong reliable 4G connection for those making their way home late at night.
3. Improving road safety – Encouraging safe, orderly active travel solutions in and around the ward.
What do you love about Ealing Broadway and the borough of Ealing?
Ealing is diverse, and vibrant!
How accessible will you be to Walpole residents and how can they get in contact with you now and if elected how will you ensure you are accessible to them in the future?
1. Pop me an email, and we can organise a visit!
2. Monthly surgeries are a must. I’m a big fan of outdoor surgeries – weather depending of course!
3. The Lib Dem team actively seek out casework by regularly knocking on doors. I will continue to do this.
