Last orders for Greenford pub

More than 900 people have signed a petition to save a Greenford pub after its operator confirmed it will close later this month.

The Railway Hotel, located on Oldfield Lane North in Greenford, is set to shut after Greene King decided not to renew its lease on the site, which expires at the end of April. A notice on the pub’s website states: “From the 20th April — we’re closing.”

A petition launched on Change.org earlier this month has attracted close to 1,000 signatures, with supporters describing the pub as a longstanding community hub and raising concerns about the impact of its closure on local jobs and social life.

A spokesperson for Greene King told EALING.NEWS: “Closing a pub is never an easy decision, but after reviewing all options we have decided not to renew our lease at the Railway Hotel, which expires at the end of April.

“We are now in discussions with the team to find alternative opportunities at our other pubs in the local area where possible. We’d like to thank all of our customers who have visited us and supported the pub over the years.”
