Ealing Common police boost burglary patrols

Police in Ealing Common have stepped up overnight patrols at burglary hotspot locations, warning residents that offences typically rise at this time of year, particularly thefts involving delivered parcels.

The Ealing Common Safer Neighbourhoods Team said officers carried out targeted patrols on Tuesday (16 December 2025) night as darker evenings and the run-up to the holiday period can create more opportunities for opportunistic criminals.

Police said burglars and thieves may take advantage of busy households and unattended deliveries left on doorsteps, urging residents to take extra precautions with parcels and home security.

Residents were encouraged to report suspicious behaviour as soon as possible, with police saying community vigilance is a key part of efforts to reduce burglary.

The team said: “Our patrols are focused on prevention, visibility and reassurance within the community. If you see anything suspicious, report it immediately. Your vigilance, combined with increased patrols, plays a vital role in keeping our community safe.”
