Ealing Wind Orchestra returns to UWL

The Ealing Wind Orchestra will be performing at the University of West London this Friday (5 December 2025), with a concert at 7.30pm in Weston Hall offering a programme which features film music by Hans Zimmer and John Williams to works by Percy Grainger and Leonard Bernstein, alongside tuba solos.

The group was founded by enthusiasts connected to Ealing and other wind orchestras and has since grown, establishing a regular base with support from the university. Dave Gordon-Shute, the orchestra’s musical director, said its concerts aim to be accessible, with new music “carefully explained and introduced”.

He added: “For us its all about community and bringing people together” and revealed to EALING.NEWS that the orchestra’s concerts have raised more than £5,000 for local charities, including Ealing Foodbank and Meadow House.
