Pensioner and 26-year-old from Ealing charged under terrorism law

Metropolitan Police have named a 69-year-old man and a 26-year-old man from Ealing among 120 newly charged people as part of an ongoing Counter Terrorism Policing London investigation into alleged support for the proscribed group Palestine Action.

Simon Milner Edwards, 69, was issued with a postal requisition after being arrested in relation to a protest in Parliament Square on 9 August 2025, police said. Tjalle Rumley, 26, was also charged as part of the same group.

The latest charges bring the total number of people accused of the same offence in London to 254 since July 2025. All have been charged under section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000, which covers the display or expression of support for a banned organisation. They are due to appear at Westminster magistrates court on dates between 24 November and 9 December 2025.

A conviction under section 13 carries a maximum six-month prison sentence, with wider implications that may affect employment, university admissions, professional accreditation and travel to countries requiring disclosure of criminal records.

Police said enquiries into further arrests linked to protests in August, September and October 2025 remain ongoing.
