Ealing Film Festival returns

The Ealing Film Festival is back next month with what organisers describe as its most ambitious programme to date, bringing together local and international filmmakers to the borough.

Running from 2 to 4 October 2025 across ActOne Cinema, Ealing Picturehouse and Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, the festival is now in its sixth year and promises its “strongest yet” line-up. Each short film has been selected for “exceptional quality and creativity”, with entries coming from across the UK and overseas.

Working closely with the University of West London, the festival has encouraged a wave of new submissions from emerging filmmakers, prompting organisers to add an extra screen at ActOne to accommodate the demand.

Festival co-director Anthony Coyle-Dowling said: “We’re thrilled by the quality and diversity of submissions this year—from local filmmakers to international talent, the films truly reflect the creativity and storytelling we aim to celebrate at the Ealing Film Festival. We’re also delighted that Ealing Studios is sponsoring an award this year; with its incredible heritage in British filmmaking, their support feels like a real celebration of our local creative community.”

Beyond screenings, audiences can expect workshops and panel discussions, giving filmmakers and viewers the chance to exchange ideas about the future of cinema.

Tickets are on sale via the festival’s website: ealingfilmfestival.com.
