More than 80 entrepreneurs and business owners from across Ealing gathered at Bobo Social in Filmworks Walk last month (19 June 2025) for the latest quarterly meeting of the Ealing Business Club.
The breakfast event featured Andrew Dakers, CEO of West London Business, as special guest speaker.
Hosted by Trisha Stewart, director of Ealing Business Club, and Councillor Julian Gallant, the club’s chair, Mr Dakers offered Ealing Business Club members an insight into how West London has positioned itself on the global economic stage – and how the region continues to grow.
Mr Dakers highlighted the area’s exceptional connectivity and economic strength, noting that West London is home to over 110,000 businesses and contributes billions of pounds to the UK economy.
He said: “We’re very proud of the reality that West London is the world’s most connected place.”
Mr Dakers also outlined several initiatives led by West London Business, including lobbying efforts that secured superfast broadband for Park Royal – London’s largest industrial estate – and the development of local training opportunities. One recent success was addressing the lack of apprenticeships in the food and drink manufacturing sector, which previously required travel as far as Birmingham.
Following his talk, Mr Dakers took questions from the audience on topics including opportunities for young people, investment in West London and manufacturing in the borough.
