Man arrested on suspicion of murder after body found in Southall home

A 54-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 60s was found dead at a home in Southall.

Metropolitan Police were called to Samara Drive in The Green Quarter just before 11am on Wednesday (23 April 2025), after the London Ambulance Service raised concerns about the welfare of a man at the address.

On arrival, officers discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 60s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have launched a murder investigation and are currently treating the death as suspicious. Efforts are ongoing to identify and contact the man’s next of kin.

The exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed and a postmortem examination is expected to be carried out in the coming days.

The 54-year-old man, who is from Southall, has also been arrested on suspicion of preventing a lawful burial. He remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation. He said: “We are in the very early stages of our investigation and my team of experienced detectives and forensic specialists are working at pace to establish the circumstances of this death.

“I can understand that this may be concerning for the community in Southall, who can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as we begin our investigation.”

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call police on 101 providing the reference CAD2369/23APR. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
