Ealing’s Mahaba Cafe and UWL produce Neurodiversity Celebration Week podcast

As part of this week’s Neurodiversity Celebration Week (17 March 2025 – 23 March 2025), Ealing-based social enterprise Mahaba Cafe together with journalism students from Ealing’s University of West London have produced a special podcast on embracing neurodiversity in the workplace.

The podcast showcases personal stories along with insights on how to create better understanding and inclusion.

Latest data from Ealing Council, cited by Mahaba Cafe, reveals that 97.8% of adults in the borough with disabilities and learning differences are unemployed and Mahaba Cafe is seeking to promote inclusion in local communities.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Muriel Morgan Walckiers, founder of Mahaba Cafe said: “Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a timely reminder of why Mahaba Cafe exists and the crucial work we’re doing. By empowering neurodivergent young people, we’re not just creating opportunities, we’re working towards a future where inclusivity is the standard. But we can’t do it alone. We urgently need support from local businesses and funding to help us with our vital work.”

Ms Morgan Walckiers added: “I’m really impressed by the professionalism and meaningful work of the UWL Journalism students, and I want to thank them sincerely for highlighting this issue with their podcast.”
