Ealing Council has held a ‘topping out’ ceremony in Northolt to mark the upwards completion of the building process for 84 new council homes which will be rented out.
The development, located on the site of Northolt Grange Community Centre in Rushdene Crescent, will see the homes being let at London Affordable Rent.
The flats will be a mixture of 1, 2, and 3-bedrooms and built in two 5-storey blocks. The weekly rent for a 1-bedroom home starts from £232.76, 2-bedroom homes start from £229.92 and 3-bedroom homes start from £262.92.
As well as the rental homes, eight houses are also being built which will be available as shared ownership.
The development, which is expected to see its first residents moving in from spring 2026, will also offer a children’s play area, open space and cycle and vehicle parking.
Among those attending last month’s ceremony were Councillor Peter Mason, leader of Ealing Council and Councillor Shital Manro, the council’s cabinet member for good growth and new homes.
Councillor Mason said: “These high-quality, energy-efficient new homes to let will put a dent in our target to build 4,000 genuinely affordable homes in the current council term, and will provide more than 80 local families with the security and stability they need for a better quality of life.”
Councillor Manro added: “These new homes will help us deliver on our pledge to create strong and thriving communities filled with pride, identity, and purpose.”
